Chapter 1, part 1:
When you first start out after the cut scene, you will notice three crows and a house; you can have Leon shoot the crows or go straight to the house, but your first objective is the house. Head towards the house and another cut scene will start, when it's finished, enter the house and another cut scene starts. After the cut scene, the guy in the house will try to kill you, so shoot him with Leon's handgun, once he is dead another cut scene starts. After the cut scene ends, go up the stairs and get the handgun ammo from the back corner. Once Leon has reloaded the handgun and obtained the ammo, jump out the window and kill the three guys outside the house; here's a little tip: one has a pitchfork, one has a scythe, and the other one has an axe. Don't worry, Leon doesn't get hurt when he lands. After you kill the three guys, head up the road and be sure it's not the way you came.
As Leon goes down the road you will see a building of some sort and more crows. Go into the building and break open the boxes using your knife and pick up every item in the building. In case you didn't notice,there's a typewriter by the door. Typewriters are used to save the game with; so, in other words, use them when you can and as often as you can. Leave the building after you save.
Continue up the road. Just past where the crows were, is a dog with its leg stuck in a bear trap. Free the dog because he will come in handy in the future. Continue up the path and you will find four trees with two explosive wires attached in the space between them. Go through the middle space where there isn't an explosive wire to avoid injury. Once clear of the trees, a guy with a pitchfork shouts and points at you. After you kill him, continue up the path.
You will see a building and a bridge, go into the building first and collect every item in there. When you're done in the building, go to the bridge. You will see two guys standing at the beginning of the bridge, kill them before you attempt to cross the bridge. As you cross the bridge, you will notice a building, and three guys on a ridge; don't worry about them; they don't pose any treat to you at the moment. Go into the building and kill the guy inside. After you kill him, take everything inside the building and break every box that might be in there. Exit the building and head for the door.
Hunnigan will contact Leon when he gets to the other side of the door. Also, she will send Leon a playing manual. Make your way towards the destination. After you perform the action command to avoid having Leon die from the boulder, go into the tunnel. You will notice there is a building to your left and right in front of you. There is also a guy with a stick of dynamite in front of Leon. Go into the house to your left, but be careful there is an explosive wire and a bear trap in the building. There is another guy with a stick of dynamite. Kill all the guys in the area and destroy the box and nest. After you do all that, go into the beat-up old house you first saw and pick up everything in there.
After you got everything head to the main building you saw and be careful, there is an explosive wire. There are also several cabinets with items in them, and also a typewriter. You will hear a loud thumping noise, go investigate to find its source. You will find a bookshelf blocking a doorway. Move it out of the way and enter the room. The thumping gets louder when you enter the room. When Leon gets close to vanity, a cut scene will start. That's when you meet Luis Sera and Bitores Mendez.
Chapter 1, part 2:
Fight your way back to the village and try not to get killed.
Chapter 1, part 3:
Hunnigan contacts you and tells you that the cult group is called 'Los Illuminados.' You tell her what the chief told you, and she is as equally puzzled. There is a cabinet behind Leon with a green herb in it, it would be wise to grab it. Head downstairs and get every item, even check the oven. Save using the typewriter. Make sure all your guns are loaded before you leave the building because you will be facing Dr. Salvador, a Ganado with a sack over his head and a chainsaw for a weapon, with two Ganado's behind him. Once you get past all the Ganados and into the building with the cult group's symbol on the door, break open the box and collect whatever is inside the room, save the game. After you save the game, go through the door, then break open the barrel. Open the trap door on the other side of the room and go down it. After you beat the Del Lago, you will begin Chapter 2 part 1 after you go through all the nonsense of the cut scene.
